Chapter 32: By the way, there’s no image of that person.
After taking a nap, I piece together the information Una and others had purchased.
『I see. So, the adventurers obtain information on monster from the guild and make a living by hunting them. 』
『Yes, father. There’s also this thing called ranks that exists among the adventurer. From highest to the lowest rank, they are ranked as S, A, B, C, D or E depending on their strength and achievement. 』
Fumu fumu.
The adventurer.
They are those who earn money by hunting for prey, commissioned by a union called the Adventurer’s Guild.
To put it simply, they can be commissioned to do anything ranging from odd jobs, which requested by townspeople, to escorting wagon. However, the most common one is monster subjugation.
It is due to the quest availability for subjugation of lower-class monsters with high breeding capability such as goblin, kobold and orc.
In which they’ll be paid accordingly based on the number and type of monsters they defeated.
However, if it’s a powerful monster such as a dragon, a giant or an advanced-class or above monster, a subjugation order will be issued.
It will immediately be issued especially if the monster was discovered in the vicinity of the town.
Incidentally, because of the mine near the town, the orders are usually Accurate Crow subjugation and escorting miners.
A-rank difficulty, which apparently issued by the country.
I have nothing to worry about. After all, it’s that monstrous crow they’re after.
Next, the adventurer’s strength that I’m most curious about.
Rookie adventurers start from rank E and rank up as they become stronger.
In general, rank C~B adventurers can only hunt intermediate to advanced-class monsters after they formed a group which is also known as a party.
In other words, it means that Una and the rest are at least C-rank since they can kill the intermediate-class earthworm alone.
And finally, the cream of the crop. The S-rank adventurers.
It appears that each of them is powerful enough to slay a King-class monster by themselves.
Even a monster at a level of Disaster-class is powerless against a party of S-ranks.
Though there are some exceptions.
Humans are amazing…
Fumu, based on everything, the strength of the adventurer and monster doesn’t seem to have changed much since Elibel’s time.
In other words, Elibel’s knowledge is well understood even in modern times.
It’s quite a harvest just to know that.
I also found out how much time has passed since Elibel’s time.
It has been about two hundred years.
It seems that the sacred calendar is still being used in this time.
By the way, it is now year 512 on the sacred calendar.
On the contrary, it’s shocking that Elibel’s knowledge and research results still hold even after two hundred years.
Who was this woman, really?
I’m going to have Una and the others stay in the town for a while.
In the meantime, let’s find more about Elibel.
Even though there were research results, there were only a few records of Elibel herself.
Still, I did find something about her from that colorful ball.
It won’t hurt checking it out since I’ll be listening from herself eventually.
Next is the general and common knowledge.
First, the currency.
The currency unit of this country is lien.
As I expected, the unit of the currency is differed in each country.
Just like in my world, every country regulate their currency in order to preserve their value.
By the way, two of the magic stones that were given to Una were exchanged for 2 million liens.
Based on the standard of this country, a family of four spend 60k liens a month.
15k liens per person.
….. That’s a lot of money.
Well, the staff did ask a lot of questions.
And because of that, Dos is having a hard time keeping Una in check.
As for Tres, she’s freely exploring the guild.
They’re really taking it easy….
I wonder if everything’s okay.
However, the living standards of this world seems to be lower than I thought.
For example, in the case of the lowest rank, the E-rank adventurers, the reward for each goblin killed is 100 liens while for orc, 200 liens.
It doesn’t include the monster’s belonging and magic stones which can be sold separately to the guild.
If they’re lucky, they can get 300 liens from a single goblin.
In other words, if E-rank adventurers going to live a month off goblin, they need to kill 150 goblins and even if they’re lucky, they’ll still need at least 50 goblins.
A year in this world is equivalent to 360 days or 12 months of 30 days.
Which means that they need to hunt 5 goblins a day.
And if we consider the equipment and members of the party, they’ll need more than that.
Probably several times more.
After a goblin-based calculation, the profession of adventurer may be more severe than I thought.
I see. Una got all of this by asking… What’s her name again?
Fa…. I can’t remember it. It’s from the surprised redhead adventurer.
Still, there are endless of people who want to become an adventurer.
It’s because they believe they can get rich quickly by doing riskier job.
By the way, it’s 100 liens for every 10 Killer Ants or slimes. Unbelievably cheap!
Meanwhile, the reward for an Accurate Crow is 5 million liens. That’s a lot!
Let’s move on to the language.
The official language of this world is Faudo, which based on the name of the continent according to Elibel’s lithograph.
There are other languages such as the beastmen language and the demon language, but that’s already enough for now.
Next, the country we’re in.
The place where we are, the Eld Desert, seems to be a territory of the Borhelic Kingdom.
The name of the country is the same as on the map.
I was told that the town Una and others had discovered is a mining town with a population of ten thousand located in the south of the kingdom called Agour.
Which is quite large in this world.
It seems to be a prosperous mining town thanks to the magic stone which can be mine from the Eld Mine.
There are many other countries, but Borhelic Kingdom is one of the five largest countries on this continent.
And I also received the most damning information ever.
They told me there are S-rank adventurers in this country.
Three of them to be exact.
And one of them has hunted dragon before.
Are you kidding me?!
Why a person like that is in this country?!
I’ve instructed Una and the others to look into the adventurer as well.
Well, that’s pretty much it.
I think I got a general idea of this world common sense.
I knew it was a good idea to go outside.
I was able to learn a lot of things I had never known or were interested in before.
And with it, I can completely fix the knowledge gap.
As I expected, it was a right choice to go outside.
Well, not physically.
But they are my golem, so technically speaking I did go outside, right?
What, that doesn’t count?
Come on.
The outcome is good.
Alright, let’s move on to the next phase.
『Una, I want you to continue gathering more information in Agour. Act as an adventurer and increase your rank. A-rank and B-rank will give you access to a much better information. But, increase your rank reasonably. By their standard, you’re only capable of hunting an intermediate-class monster alone.』
『Understood.』
Both Una and Dos bow.
Except for one which is Tres.
『Dad, Tres is tired.』
『Why, you!』
I somehow managed to stop Una from yelling at Tres.
She’s just tired. I mean, she is…. So adorable.
Seriously, this kid. Stop staring at your father with your big eyes.
I have to scold her properly.
Well, one of these days. Eventually.
『Tres can come home then. Una, Dos, continue with the investigation.』
『…….Understood.』
『Tres, be careful on your way back and don’t let anyone sees you, alright?』
『Okay~』
Well then, I also have something that needs to be done.
『Una, continue with what you’re doing. I’m going out for a while.』
『Eh, you’re going out, father?』
Una looks surprised.
If you look at them, they are more or less surprised with what I said.
Even Ann and Pururu were shaken by it.
What the hell?! They’re treating me as if I’m a shut-in!
I’m not like that at all!
『Not outside, just to another place.』
『To where, exactly?』
『Well, it’s actually-』
I cut to the chase.
『A dungeon.』
A dungeon left behind by Elibel.
There’s something I need to do there.
To fill the last piece of my dungeon.
So, Elibel.
Please forgive me, one more time.
I am sorry.
