Chapter 243

◇◇◇

While Princess Puffy is blessed with royal talent, her extraordinary gift for magical research is even more remarkable.
Her specialty differs somewhat from Angelica, who is considered wise in this field. Puffy focuses mainly on magical theory itself, as well as the development of magical tools and artifacts.
She excels in both fundamental and applied research, earning her considerable respect from her peers and competitors in the research community.

Between her magical research, her duties as the Princess of Arcana, gathering information about the summoned ones, and preparing support for their future needs, her life is extremely busy.
Given these circumstances, she doesn’t meet the young Holy Knight until the day after his summoning.

When first summoned, the Hero is described as having the appearance of a beautiful nobleman from some country, and many women working in the castle become his fans.
However, from the day of his summoning, he falls under the care of a certain nobleman and lives as he pleases. Many people become disillusioned with him, and the only ones who continue to support him are either dreamy women attracted to his title of Hero or calculating women who hope to use him for their own benefit.

In contrast, the young Holy Knight’s appearance is somewhat plain compared to the flashy and pretentious Hero, looking like any ordinary young man you might find anywhere.
Moreover, even when it comes to training, he has never held a sword, not even a wooden one. He has never killed animals, and seems uncomfortable with the act of hurting living beings. Seeing him hesitate to swing a wooden sword at people, many become skeptical about whether he can truly be trusted.

Their feelings are understandable when considering his training scenes—he hesitates, gets struck, falls to the ground, only to stand up again, shouting as he takes his stance with the wooden sword.
Even after several days, although he becomes able to swing the wooden sword, he is always covered in mud and injuries.

Nevertheless, he somehow manages to spend the majority of each day training, being healed again and again by multiple Sisters.
It isn’t uncommon to hear stories of Sisters and maids fainting at the sight of his brutal training regimen.

However, it doesn’t take long for the wind to change direction regarding the young Holy Knight. This isn’t because his technique improves or his body becomes stronger.

Rather, it’s because his determination to never give up, to stand up and face challenges again and again even after collapsing like a worn-out rag, touches many people’s hearts.

At first, among those responsible for healing, only Siesta voluntarily offers to tend to his wounds with dedication. But as one day passes, then two, and time goes on, more and more people step forward to help with his recovery. By the fifth day, almost all the Sisters eagerly offer to cast healing magic on him.

Furthermore, many maids gather at the entrance of the training grounds to watch, cheering 「Holy Knight, do your best!」 with enthusiasm.

According to Puffy’s personal maid, those supporting the young Holy Knight claim they admire his 「strong-willed eyes」 or 「the gap between his usual self and training self.」

Before long, even Chancellor Madison joins his supporters, with rumors circulating that he was seen wiping tears from his eyes while watching the training. However, Puffy’s first meeting with the young Holy Knight doesn’t take place at the training grounds.

Their first encounter occurs in the castle library.

Despite his seemingly maddening training schedule, he surprisingly cuts his sleep to the absolute minimum, spending time in the library studying general knowledge about this world, geography, and other information necessary for his future life as an adventurer.

Puffy is the first to approach him.
However, after the incident with the Hero, she approaches cautiously, afraid that this summoned Holy Knight might have a similar personality. But her fears prove completely unfounded.

The young Holy Knight is entirely different from the Hero.
He is intellectual and rational.

When Puffy apologizes for his summoning, he responds, 「You weren’t there at the time. You weren’t involved, were you?」

She thinks she deserves to be blamed in this situation.
If she were in his position, would she be able to behave as he does?

It isn’t surprising that Princess Puffy becomes interested in him.
It starts with simple greetings, but as time passes, day by day, when she asks questions like 「What are you studying?」 or 「How were things in your world?」 he responds promptly and pleasantly.
Encouraged by this, Puffy forgets her usual reserved nature and poses numerous questions to the young man.

The common sense of this world doesn’t apply at all in his world.
There are no dragons, no guillotine rabbits.
There is no magic, and merely possessing a sword can lead to arrest.
All citizens are given opportunities to learn, with many studying together in the same classroom, sitting at desks side by side.

It seems like something out of a story, but it is undeniably a real world. And this kind yet strong-willed young man had lived his daily life there.

The world is infinitely vast, far beyond what her modest imagination can comprehend. This realization makes Puffy’s feelings for the young man grow even stronger.
