Holy Knight Nelly Virtuous. When people are asked what kind of woman she is, many would describe her as strong, robust, cool, and the very embodiment of a prince. While these descriptions might seem odd when describing a woman, they are by no means exaggerated.
With her light brown pixie cut and androgynous sweet face, combined with a height rivaling Ashley’s and a slender, well-proportioned figure, she takes everyone’s breath away.
Moreover, the reason she’s compared to a prince isn’t just because of her physical characteristics. Her gestures and way of speaking somehow remind people of a well-bred nobleman’s son. And with such an appearance and demeanor, she can’t help but come to the aid of people in trouble. For instance, just the other day, upon spotting a woman who had fallen on the street, she immediately called out 「Are you alright, miss?」 in her princely voice and offered her hand. The woman she helped was instantly smitten by just that simple act. While Nelly blushed at all the attention she was receiving, she had no idea that everyone around her, young and old, men and women alike, were thinking, 「How cool… just like a prince from a story.」
However, as one might expect, humans are mysterious creatures, and there are many cases where outward appearances don’t match what’s inside. Nelly Virtuous is precisely one of these cases.
Her appearance, voice, gestures, and behavior—while all these traits make women swoon and she appears to be without worries and capable of anything, the reality is quite different. In most cases, she’s internally whining and holding her head in her hands whenever faced with problems. In fact, she might be described as someone with a negative disposition.
There’s a major reason why she becomes negative. That reason is her extraordinarily bad luck.
For reasons unknown, she is simply an unlucky woman. Speaking of what makes her unlucky, becoming a Holy Knight of this country is a prime example of her misfortune. While one might think this applies to Adam and Ashley as well, her unluckiness stands in a league of its own, even setting aside the matter of being a Holy Knight.
Today, we’ll take a look at a day in her life.

Like Ashley, Nelly Virtuous has been given a splendid manor by the Arcana Kingdom as a Holy Knight, where carefully selected servants are employed.
However, unlike Ashley who is treated as a young lady in her manor, Nelly receives treatment befitting a noble prince from all but a few of her close servants. What makes this troublesome is that they harbor no ill feelings—quite the contrary, their consideration for Nelly is remarkably intense.
As such, Nelly is very well-cared for in her manor, albeit in a different way.
On this day, the servants’ thoughtfulness backfires. When Nelly suddenly sits up in bed, she immediately looks at the clock above her head—and the blood drains from her face. She’s completely late. Jumping out of bed, she hastily gets ready and dashes out of her room.
Being late—this is her first bout of bad luck for the day.
Recently, the maids, butlers, and other servants have stopped waking her up. Having completed her duties after the fierce battle with the Sealed Dungeon, they pamper her out of their wish for her to live happily from now on. In this situation, they find it endearing even if she oversleeps a bit, and thus don’t wake her up.
And right then comes her second stroke of bad luck. Nelly collides with a maid passing in front of her room. The maid, who falls down with Nelly on top of her, recognizes that the person who bumped into her is her master Nelly and stammers, 「I-I-I’m so sorry!」 However, being the sincere person she is, Nelly responds:
「It’s okay, it was my carelessness. Are you hurt?」
She helps the maid up by her hand and voices her concern.
「Ah-ah-ah, thank you!!!」
The maid apologizes with spinning eyes and reddened cheeks. However, Nelly has no time for this.
「I’m sorry! If it hurts, please get it checked out!」
