When he says this, the girls let out an excited 「Wooooow!!」
「We’re really counting on you.」
「Well, I believe in you anyway.」
His best friend Beta—aka Tabe Kōsuke from the baseball team—pats him on the shoulder, while the former delinquent turned social butterfly Sei—aka Suzuki Night—voices his trust.
「The trust feels a bit heavy, but… well, leave it to me.」
He nods with a smile. The girls flutter with excitement again at his smile. His classmates place their complete trust in him.
Even though it’s still before summer break, each class needs to decide what they’re going to do for the cultural festival that starts shortly after summer break ends. Like many other classes struggling to decide on their event, their class had been having trouble reaching a decision.
In the midst of this, one of his group member’s suggestions—a trolley café—was adopted. While it was quite an outlandish idea, the response from their classmates was generally positive.
However, there was one problem. The size of the classroom. A regular classroom just wasn’t big enough for an attraction that combined a handmade trolley with café elements. That’s why he was entrusted by his classmates to secure one of the few larger rooms, like the audio-visual room, that only a handful of classes across all grades could borrow.

The same members always gather for lunch. His group includes six of the most prominent students in their grade, positioned at the top of the social hierarchy.
「Speaking of which, where’s Saitō today? He’s the one who came up with this crazy trolley café idea in the first place, right?」
Tabe Kōsuke asks him.
「I’m worried too. I wonder what happened.」
In response to their exchange, Suzuki Night frowns.
「Gah! What kind of friends are we, only asking now? He’s apparently out sick with a cold or something.」
The two girls in their group chime in with 「I knew about that!」 「Me too!」
「Well, should we go visit him then?」
「Oh, that’s a great idea! Let’s stop by after club activities.」
「Then we’ll hang out until your club activities are done. Give us a call and we’ll meet up to go together.」
「I’m totally in!」
「I’ll go too. If everyone’s going, I have to go, right?」
「I agree. Once I finish negotiating for the audio-visual room, I’ll join up with everyone.」
When Suzuki shouts 「Alright, it’s decided!」 they start buzzing about what to bring for their sick friend.
◇◇◇
He is truly the central figure of the group. He possesses a certain charisma. Not only is he deeply trusted by the male members, but both female members harbor feelings for him. With his sweet looks that are almost cute, gentle demeanor, and exceptional way with people, it’s impossible for anyone not to be aware of him.
He himself is conscious of this, but he feels somewhat disgusted at the idea of using such things for his own selfish purposes.
However, this time he’s carrying the expectations of his classmates. Because of this, he doesn’t mind using these aspects of himself to secure the audio-visual room.
Without breaking from his usual attitude and demeanor, he patiently negotiates with representatives from other classes who also want the audio-visual room. Sometimes calming them down, sometimes offering appropriate bargaining chips or alternative proposals, he manages to brilliantly secure the rights to use it. While getting permission to use the audio-visual room was quite challenging, through strong determination, he somehow manages to accomplish it.
A female student from the cultural festival management committee hands him a piece of paper.
「Here, since it’s been decided that your class will use the audio-visual room, please write down your class and your name.」
◇◇◇
「When you’re visiting someone sick, you gotta bring a biscuit assortment!」
Considering the price, they purchase a snack set for Saitō.
「Should we write ‘To Saitō’ on it?」
Suzuki takes out the paper that came with the snack bag.
「Since we bought it, we should definitely write something!」
When one of the girls agrees, Suzuki nods 「Yeah」 and takes a pen out of his bag. Then, as he grips the pen—
「Sorry… what kanji is Saitō written with again?」
「What?! You don’t even know that? Night, you’re such a terrible friend!」
「Shut up! That doesn’t matter, just write it for me!」
The girl who receives the pen from Suzuki smoothly writes down the name of the friend they’re about to visit. There, in strangely cute handwriting, is written 「Saiki Tōjirō.」
◇◇◇
「I’ve written it down.」
He hands the completed form back to the female student from the cultural festival management committee. In the name field—
「Yes, I’ve received it. Saitō Eisuke.」
