Chapter 274

◇◇◇

Of course, she has overslept, spent time doing nothing, and gotten drunk and rowdy before. That’s just part of being human. However, this is the first time she has managed to pack all of these experiences into a single day.

Lounging in bed until past noon, spending most of the day doing absolutely nothing, and to top it all off, partying with friends on a whim—taking a break isn’t half bad.

Pleasantly tipsy, Orphelia somehow manages to leave the tavern before dawn, brushing off Anon’s sad protests of 「You’re leaving?! But we haven’t drunk enough!」 – he seems particularly cheerful, probably due to the alcohol.

After waving goodbye to Anon with a 「See you later,」 she somehow manages to support the completely intoxicated Eris as they stumble back to the inn together.

She carries Eris to her room, helps her change clothes, and dumps her into bed. Then she returns to her own room in a dreamlike state, cleanses herself, and finally collapses into bed. Her body, recognizing the horizontal position, immediately urges her to sleep.

She’s tired. Tired, but it wasn’t bad at all.
Ah, that was fun.

And so Orphelia spends her first day of vacation.

◇◇◇

In their previous discussion, Orphelia and Eris had decided to take at least a week off.

So they continue in this fashion the next day, and the day after that, lazing around during the day and making merry at night. These new experiences feel remarkably fresh to her, and they are undeniably fun and enjoyable.

However, a part of Orphelia—one she isn’t even aware of—constantly gives her a vague sense of unease, wondering if these past few days, spent idly under the pretense of rest, have been nothing but lukewarm time wasted.

This hidden part of her, this unconscious inclination, is the source of the overwhelming energy concealed within her. It is the foundation of her unmatched talent, the wellspring of her extraordinary drive, and the true nature of her incredible positivity.

Her own energy, which had been smoldering inside her since she was struggling at Hidden Mountain, had been the cause of her restless state, becoming an urge that left her feeling unsettled.

At Hidden Mountain, Orphelia had felt useless for staying stagnant, constantly experiencing an indescribable sense of impatience. And now, taking this unfamiliar extended break has only intensified that anxiety.

By the fourth day of their vacation, when she wakes up past noon and has lunch at the inn, the impulse of her smoldering internal energy has grown strong enough for her to clearly recognize it.

But what should she do about it?
Mastering the sword isn’t something that happens overnight. Orphelia isn’t so naive as to not understand such an obvious thing. And yet, the energy welling up from inside keeps urging her on.

Just move.
Do something.
She doesn’t know what, but do something.
Is it okay to stay like this?
It’s not okay.
Is this the time to be standing still?
No, it’s not. So, move.

Orphelia leaves the inn, trying to shake off her thoughts of 「Ah, what should I do?」

◇◇◇

Sena had strictly instructed her that if she were to challenge Hidden Mountain, she must absolutely do it together with Eris.
Orphelia thinks of Eris, who has gone to learn knitting today.

That girl is different from me.
That girl is more adaptable than me—indeed, she’s a more capable person.

She hesitates to call out to Eris and heads to Hidden Mountain alone.
Just as she makes up her mind with a 「Right!」 and steps forward—at that moment,

「The mountain is still too much for you alone. We promised you’d climb it together with someone else.」

Short warp.
Suddenly, the white girl Sena appears before her eyes.
